fall

I love these little guys. I'm not normally one for candy corn, but josh loves it! So i saw theses at my local Walgreen's and decided to pick up a bag for the little nugget. I ate most of them. They have a slight candy corn flavor, but more of a white chocolate, creme brulee flavor. I recommend you try them ..and how cute would they be on those cookies with the kiss in the middle. Good times.

Organic ice cream

My dad bought this amazing Ice cream at Wegmans. I haven't seen it anywhere else but I'm sure you can purchase it at other places. Its awesome so creamy like Gelato. We got the Cinnamon flavor and chocolate. Now normally i am not an ice cream person especially chocolate ice cream but this is wonderful. Its all organic every ingredient is organic, the milk , eggs, even the sugar. Im enjoying my transition into a more green and healthy life. Horray!

First day of summer...kinda

This is a tradition. When it first starts getting warm out this awesome hot dog place right on the beach opens. Foot long hot dogs, amazing fries that we drown in vinegar, and pop...what better way to start the summer. Josh and I love going to Sarah's. we sit on red pic-nic tables and can see the water and beautiful condos we wished we lived in. That is one thing I'm gonna really miss about Erie.

Summer Rhubarb Bread

I like this recipe because it reminds me of how we used to pick Rhubarb sit at the table and dip it in sugar and eat it. Yumm

Rhubarb Bread

1 1/2 cup (packed) brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2/3 c salad oil
2 1/2 c flour
1 1/2 c diced rhubarb
1 egg
1/2 c chopped nuts
1 c sour milk (milk with a little vinegar)
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 c butter
1 tsp soda

Mix all ingredients except sugar and butter together. Place in 2 greased loaf pans. Mix sugar and butter and sprinkle over loaves. bake at 325 for 1 hr and 15 minutes

I suggest slicing bread and serving with butter and a little strawberry jam.

: Note: You can eat Rhubarb raw..just not the leaves they are poisionous.

Yummers

Last night I made a cake I had read about on a few other blogs the actual name of the cake is a dump cake. I'm assuming because you just dump a bunch of things together with no real measurements. So her is the recipe...if that's what you want to call it.

Light brown sugar
Blueberries
Crushed pineapple unsweetened (1 large can)
Chopped pecans
Box of yellow cake mix

Layer all ingredients i suggest to start with the cake mix at the bottom and kinda cover the bottom of the cake pan with it because it tends to disappear with the ingredients. When all layered pour one stick of melted butter over it and bake at 350 for about 30-40 minutes.

It is VERY RICH but very very good. You can eat it alone or on top of some vanilla frozen yogurt! yuum

Pictures to come later beause my stupid camera is broken!

Organic Peanut Butter fudge

Yummmmm I ran across this recipe ina cook book when i was in a make something sweet mood. So very easy and you can use organic or regular indgrediants.

First you need...

2 sticks of margarine
1 Cup of peanut butter (if you use organic the taste is better and not as greasy in the end)
3 Heaping cups of confectioners sugar

Melt in a pan the margarine and peanut butter till smooth
Then in a large bowl put in the Confectioners sugar
pour in the melted butter and peanut butter mixture

I then line a loaf pan with a piece of wax paper, pour in the fudge mixture and refrigerate It takes a couple hrs to get firm...but its always better the next day! I also melt a little milk chocolate and with a spoon drizzle over the top..just in case you need to be fancy schmancy

First Post...Disclaimer

Well here it is...my first food post. I love blogging but am afraid that my usual Blog probably isn't that interesting for people who actually know me, let alone strangers. So I remember my friend Alecia telling me while I was speaking so passionately about food. That I should blog about it. What a smart little cookie. So if you happen to run across this, read it and wasn't to save it to your favorites. Feel free. Now in the beginning there wont be a lot of pictures. My stupid slow computer at home doesn't like to up load. But when ever i go to my parents house (which is a lot) I will post pics and blog like mad. So Don't thing I'm weird if you See about 5 posts that are dated for the same day, or a post with no pic. The organizing of this blog will come to a head in Aug when life is calmer. I hope you enjoy and i can share this Italian girls love for food with you all! Enjoy.
